John Franklin is a passionate marketer of goods and services with over 20 years' experience in the air travel/tourism, sporting goods, and food & beverage segments, having served in staff roles with well-known companies and brands including Northwest Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, K2 Sports, Land O Lakes butter and spreads, Slim Jim meat snacks, and Caribou Coffee. He has planned, named and launched several successful new products, from tour packages to food products. John left the corporate side in 2012 to start his consulting practice.

John holds a MBA from the University of Minnesota/Carlson School of Management in marketing and international business, a BA from the University of Minnesota in scandinavian languages and international relations, and a postgraduate certificate from the University of Georgia in marketing research. Despite being American, he is fluent in Spanish and Swedish, conversational in French and German, and is learning Brazilian Portuguese.

He is an engaging and entertaining speaker who has addressed various groups from executives to graduate and undergraduate business students. John has been quoted in numerous food trade publications, and has appeared on American Public Television's "America's Heartland" show.  John lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife and their two daughters.
